About Cebu

Sinulog FestivalCebu is one of the provinces in Visayas that stands out and it is even crowned as Queen City of the South. It also stands as the country’s top business and tourist destination. Business and leisure blends harmoniously with flair in this island.

Cebu was named the country's capital by the Spaniards in 1565 and had been an active trade port since pre-Hispanic times. Aside from being the center of trade and commerce in Southern Philippines its provincial warmth and charisma retains. The province is abundant with miles and miles of forest greens and numerous man-made landmarks and institutions.

A day is not enough to explore the many joys of the Queen City of the South such as the mystic Magellan's Cross planted by Portuguese explorer Ferdinand Magellan on the very spot where the first Filipinos were baptized; the bronze statue of Lapu-Lapu, the first Filipino leader to resist Spanish attempts of colonization and is revered to this day; the Basilica Minore del Santo Nino which houses the oldest religious relic in the country. Not to mention the vast haven to wildlife and the perfect place to relax and spend the day, such as Central Cebu National Park, Cawasan Falls, Bolok-Bolok Mineral Springs and the Islands pride their breathtaking world-class beach resort.

Cebu is an exciting playground for sports, recreations and for people who loves adventures and expeditions like: golf, tennis, cockfighting, watersports like scuba diving, windsurfing, sailing, boating, swimming, snorkeling, waterskiing, jet skiing, shopping, good food and entertainment.
